On Tuesday the 12th September 1758, Pue’s Occurrences published an advertisement for Mountrath Ironworks who’s foundry was located in Church Street, opposite the Church Gate, Dublin.
Over 50 years later, during 1810, a descendant of Patrick Pounden made a fortunate discovery at the foundry. The event was reported in the July 1810 issue of The Tradesman or Commercial Magazine:
