Explanation:

This Andalusian bronze mortar is of cylindrical form. The body has two decorated and pierced side-handles, without rings, and the exterior is decorated with fourteen ribs of triangular section, in alternating positions. Below the rim and above the base are cast and punched bands of scrollwork between lines of small dots.
